La squadra si schiera con Morris (a parole...)

Si sprecano, in questi giorni, le attestazioni di stima da parte dei giocatori dei Buccaneers nei confronti di Morris e del coaching staff di Tampa Bay. 

Il DT Brian Price, che proprio Morris aveva severamente punito domenica scorsa mandandolo anzitempo negli spogliatoi, dopo una sciocca penalità costata 15 yards, ha così commentato la “autoespulsione “ di cui è stato oggetto: "It's kind of like getting a whuppin' by your dad," Price said of being told Sunday by Morris to leave the field immediately after his third-quarter penalty. "You can't really take it too personal. You know when you mess up and you're like, 'Man, I wonder what kind of whuppin' I'm going to get or what kind of punishment?' It's all love. He's my coach, and I love him to death, and I love playing for him, and I love this team, and I just want to apologize to the owners and (general manager) Mark Dominik and Raheem.” 
Praticamente una dichiarazione d’amore, quella di Price per il suo Head Coach….

Ma andiamo avanti con le affermazioni - tratte da nfl.com - di altri giocatori, e cominciamo con il LB Adam Hayward: "If we’re not tackling, that's not Rah's fault,” said Hayward. "We're the ones that aren't tackling, or we’re missing, or we’re not getting our blocks, or whatever the case may be. Rah has nothing to do with that. He’s not the one on the field. None of the coaches are…We know what Rah’s capable of and we play for him, and we like where he is as a head coach.." 
Dunque, tutta colpa dei giocatori per Hayward: mica ci va Raheem, in campo…

Così, invece, ha parlato il DT Roy Miller:
"All week, we believe and trust in what [Raheem] tells us and it works in practice," said defensive tackle Roy Miller. “We can't be 'practice all-stars.' We’ve got to bring it to the game." Miller also dismissed the idea that any member of the coaching staff is to blame for the team’s struggles. "They (the coaches) study everything about these teams," he said. "They know what it will take to get in position to make a play. If we don’t make it, it's on us." 
Diverso il giocatore, stessa la musica: solo fiducia e stima per il coaching staff anche da parte di Miller….

Per il WR Dezmon Briscoe, i Bucs invee sono - addirittura - una famiglia: "We're a family. We’re all brothers around here so we always try to keep each other up”.

Sinceramente, tutte queste parole sdolcinate da parte dei giocatori nei confronti di Morris mi sarebbero anche venuta a noia. A parole, tutti pazzi per Raheem; ma nei fatti, l’impressione è esattamente di segno opposto. E soprattutto, sorge spontanea una domanda: ma se i giocatori dei Bucs giocassero invece contro il proprio allenatore, il loro rendimento potrebbe veramente essere inferiore a quello (ignobile) mostrato nelle ultime disastrose prestazioni?! Perché se questi “fenomeni” stanno *DAVVERO* giocando per salvare il posto di lavoro del loro Head Coach…beh….aiuto, si salvi chi può!
