Il ritorno di un ex non rimpianto: Eric Wright

Ve lo ricordate Eric Wright? Arrivato a Tampa nel corso della free agency 2012, l'ex giocatore dei Detroit Lions avrebbe dovuto rappresentare un importante innesto per la secondaria dei Bucs. Faraonico il contratto siglato dal CB #21: cinque anni di durata per quasi 40 milioni di dollari!

E invece, accadde tutto il contrario: Wright non solo giocò male nelle 10 partite disputate contribuendo a fare della secondaria di Tampa Bay edizione 2012 una delle peggiori difese sul gioco aereo dell'intera storia NFL, ma ebbe anche seri problemi "off field" per uso di sostanze proibite (con conseguente squalifica per 4 partite) e la sua avventura in Florida durò soltanto lo spazio di un mediocre campionato.

Adesso Eric Wright gioca per i San Francisco '49ers e domenica lo rivedremo al RJS nei panni dell'ex (così come dall'altra parte ci sarà Dashon Goldson ad affrontare i suoi ex compagni di squdra)... Wright si è messo in luce nell'ultima partita disputata dai '49ers mettendo a segno un importante intercetto nel finale del match vinto da San Francisco contro Seattle; queste le parole dell'HC dei niners Jim Harbaugh, tratte dal Tampa Bay Tmes, a proposito di Wright:
"It's been a very positive experience," 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said. "And it's great to see him playing and contributing. He's been a good teammate and blue collar guy and we're excited about the future for him."

E il giocatore che cosa dice a proposito della sua ex squadra? Questo il suo parere sui Buccaneers, sempre dal TBT:
Wright said the Bucs have "talent across teh board on both sides of the ball" and lauded his former team for bouncing back after an 0-8 start.
"Those guys work extremely hard and I'm sure they're disappointed in the direction their season has started," Wright said. "But I think they've done a great job of banding together as a team and continuing to battle and fight and you attribute that to just the heart of the guys in the locker room. You can respect that and we know we're going to get their best shot."
